dimensions. You will have access to tools and equipment, you may want to try
before purchasing them, if you become a serious crafter. New students should

Renaissance
Art in Northern Europe
We
will explore the foundations of art in Spain and its pathway leading up to and
through the Renaissance. The class’ topics will begin with roots in Muslim Spain
and continue through the 16th century. This class’ lectures will focus on
breathtaking
masterpieces by
artists ranging from Juan de Flandes to Titian.

Capture the spirit
of your subject in a spontaneous style while learning the basic Sumi-e. Students will work with ink

Through
the Lens: Advanced Waterscape & Wildlife Photography
This
course is for the photographer to develop advanced skills in wildlife,
waterscape, and landscape photography. LI author, lecturer, and photographer
John P. Cardone will present the works of two master photographers: one
waterscape and landscape photographer and the other renowned for wildlife
photos. Students will be able to have their best photos included in a class
photography show as part of the Islip Arts Council Art
in the Hall
program. *Prerequisite: John’s introductory class or comparable experience in
outdoor photography.

Art of
Cartooning
and
Illustration
Put
on your artist's beret, grab your pencils and sketchpad, paintbrush and
imagination! We'll be experimenting with different art techniques, using a
variety of materials. We will explore the grounds of Brookwood Hall and the
Historic Islip Art Museum and most certainly find inspiration from nature and
the lovely park and lake! Classes are for those who love to draw, with fun ideas
