Korean American
Day commemorates the
arrival of the earliest Korean migrant laborers in Hawaii on January 13, 1903.
With the foundations grounded by the first generation of Korean immigrants in
the United States, the Korean American community has been given the footing to
establish itself as a thriving community of leaders, innovative entrepreneurs,
and community-building individuals.
Now at a critical
juncture in our immigration history, young generations of Korean-Americans are
taking the mantle from our predecessors and working collaboratively across
generational and socioeconomic lines to collectively uplift all members of our
community. Through cross-generational effort and collaboration, we can reimagine
a new, intergenerational Korean American community, one
that will continue to pave the way for the health, growth, and success of future
generations of Korean-Americans.
KAAGNY requests your
presence at the Ziegfeld
Ballroom, one of New
York City's most iconic event venues, on January 13,
2020 as we celebrate
our heritage and honor the accomplishments of remarkable individuals and
organizations.
