We hope everyone is well. As May draws to a close and the summer heat sets in, we would like to draw your attention to some upcoming events in the KAAGNY-sphere. From our first ever tech career panel, to our anniversary celebration, we have lots going on!

Korean American Career Panel: Navigating the Tech Industry

Join us to hear four successful, Korean-American, tech professionals share their experiences, insights, and tips for navigating this fast-paced field. Whether you're a student, recent graduate, or working professional looking to advance your career, this panel will inspire and inform. Don't miss this opportunity to network, learn, and grow with likeminded individuals in tech. We will serve Korean food and drinks, included with your ticket. See you there!

Panelists:

Jangwoo Park (Software Engineer at Google)

Jangwoo, a recent grad, works on language model modeling and infrastructure at Google Search AI. He interned at Instagram (Shopping) and Google as a software engineer. He majored in CS, Applied Math, and Cognitive Science at Johns Hopkins.

Susanna Back (UX/UI Designer at Thrivent)

Susanna is an experienced product designer in fintech. She creates innovative internal products at a Fortune 500 financial services organization. She graduated from the Pratt Institute with a BFA in Communications Design and a minor in Psychology. She is a freelance graphic designer and ceramicist.

Saej Chung (Accessibility Analyst at Google)

Saej works on the Chrome accessibility team. Their entry into tech was through testing for another team as a contractor at Google which resulted in applying for a full-time role to focus on accessibility analysis. They graduated from Adler University with an MA in Counseling, specializing in sports performance.

Monica Yoon (Program Manager at Bubble) - Monica works at a SaaS startup that targets operations for a pre-accelerator program championing founders from underrepresented backgrounds. She graduated from Georgetown with a bachelor's in Marketing and has since gained experience in social media and talent acquisition.

Moderator:

Lester Kim (Head of Engineering at Balcony) - Lester has been working in startups since 2014. He got his AB in Physics from Harvard and his MS in Actuarial Science from Columbia.
