1980년 설립된 한국학중앙연구원 한국학대학원은 한국과 관련된 인문·사회과학 분야의 연구 중심 대학원으로 한국학의 내실화와
세계화에 기여할 우수한 한국학자 양성을 목표로 하고 있습니다. 현재 30개국 110여 명의 외국인 학생을 포함하여 240여 명의 재
학생이 소수 정예 교육(교수 1명에 학생 4명의 비율)을 통해 청계산 자락의 아름다운 캠퍼스에서 학문적 역량을 키우고 있습니다.
한국학대학원의 “차세대 한국학자 초청 연구지원”은 해외 교육 기관의 한국학 관련 전공 외국인 및 재외국민 학생을 초청하여
교육․연구 활동을 지원함으로써 한국학의 저변을 확대하는 선도자 역할을 담당하도록 장려하는 프로그램입니다. 2013년 3월부터
6개월간 지원받을 초청 대상자를 다음과 같이 모집하오니 관심있는 분들의 많은 지원 바랍니다.
The Graduate School of Korean Studies in the Academy of Korean Studies is a research-oriented graduate institute established in 1980. We specialize in the fields of humanities and social sciences related to Korea with the aim of nurturing eminent scholars of Korean studies who would search for the essence of Korean culture and contribute to the advancement and globalization of Korean studies. About 240 students including 114 international students from 30 countries are currently enrolled in our master's and doctoral degree programs, enjoying close one-to-one guidance by professors which our 1:4 faculty-student ratio enables.
The AKS(Academy of Korean Studies) Research Grant is one of our non-degree programs which invites and supports international students for six months to provide them with a momentum to grow to be a next generation of promising scholars in Korean studies and to play a leading role in the field abroad. Applications for the AKS Research Grant for the period from 1 March 2013 to 31 August 2013 are now being sought. Those who aspire to widen and deepen their knowledge by conducting research at our graduate school in one of the most dynamic countries in the world are very welcome to apply.

가. 본인과 부모가 모두 외국 국적을 소유한, 해외 대학의 한국학 관련 전공 석사 과정생·수료생·졸업생 및 박사 과정생·
수료생 나. 재외국민 및 외국인(본인만 외국 국적자)으로서 외국에서 대한민국의 초․중․고등학교 및 대학 교육에 상응하는 교육과정
을 전부 이수한, 해외대학의 한국학 관련 전공 석사 과정생·수료생·졸업생 및 박사 과정생·수료생

※ 희망자에 한하여 심사를 거쳐 6개월 연장 가능

4. 지원 내용
가. 연구 지원금 : 월 900,000원
나. 여비 : 왕복 항공료 상당(지급 기준에 의함.)
다. 도서관 및 장서각 등 연구원 시설 이용 가능
라. 이용료(2인실 기준 학기당 463,500원)를 부담할 경우 기숙사 이용 가능
마. 한국문화학당에서 개설하는 한국어 강의 무료 수강 가능
바. 연구 지원 프로그램 이수 후 이수 증명서 발급 가능
4. Grant Benefits
A. Monthly Allowance of KRW900,000 is provided.
B. Round trip airfares (prescribed by the AKS travel expenses policy) are provided.
C. Access to the AKS facilities including the library and Jangseogak Archives is given.
D. On-campus dormitory accommodations are available at the rate of KRW463,500 per person per semester
(equivalent to 6 months), double occupancy.
E. Korean language courses are offered free of charge.
F. The Certificate of Award of the AKS Research Grant is issued.

8. Subsequent Schedule
A. The selection result will be notified via email around late December in 2012.
B. Those who are selected as Grant recipients are required to arrive in Korea by late February in 2013.
9. 지원 대상자 의무
가. 연구 주제와 관련 있는 한국학대학원 소속 교수를 지도교수로 지정하여 지도교수로부터 개별 학습을 수강하거나 연구 주제와
관련이 있는 전공 강의 1강좌 이상을 수강하여야 함.
나. 체류 기간 동안 연구(논문 집필 포함)를 완료한 후 출국 전에 연구 결과 보고서와 지도교수의 평가 보고서를 제출하여야 함.
다. 체류 기간 동안의 연구 결과를 논문으로 발표 또는 도서로 간행할 경우 ‘한국학중앙연구원 한국학대학원의 연구 지원으로
수행한 연구 결과물’임을 명시하여야 함.
라. 체류 기간 동안 한국학 발전에 기여할 수 있는 연구 및 자료 수집에 전념하여야 하며, 보수를 목적으로 타업에 종사할 수 없음.
마. 체류 기간 동안 국내 타교육기관에 소속될 수 없음.
바. 연구 지원 기간 종료에 따른 출국은 종료일 1주일 전부터 가능함.
사. 기타 특별히 정하지 않은 사항은 연구원의 관련 규정과 대학원위원회의 심의 결과에 따름.
※ 추후 지원서 내용이 사실과 다르거나 지원 자격 미달로 판명될 경우 연구 지원을 중단하고 지원금을 환수할 수 있음.
9. Requirements of the AKS Research Grant Program
A. Grant recipients must either enroll in at least one full-time course at the AKS or attend one-to-one private lessons
(i.e. individual tutorials) with their academic advisor whom they chose on their application form.
B. At the end of the program, Grant recipients must submit a report summarizing their research findings and an evaluation
report written by their academic advisor.
C. When publishing a thesis or a book with the research findings during the Grant period, Grant recipients must state
that it is an outcome of the research conducted with support of the Graduate School of Korean Studies in the Academy of Korean Studies.
D. During the Grant period, Grant recipients are expected to concentrate on their research at the AKS and are not allowed
to be engaged in other occupations for financial purposes.
E. Grant recipients are not permitted to register at another educational institutions in Korea.
F. When they finish their research, Grant recipients are allowed to leave the AKS from one week before the final date of
the research period.
G. As for items not stipulated here, Grant recipients must abide by the rules and regulations of the AKS and decisions
of the Graduate School Committee.
※ If it turns out that provided information is false or that the applicant is not qualified even after the selection result is announced, the acceptance of his/her AKS Research Grant program can be cancelled and the Grant paid withdrawn.
10. 지원금 관련 참고 사항
가. 연구지원금은 매월 말 지급하되, 중간에 개인 사정 등으로 일시 출국하거나 연구를 포기하고 귀국할 경우 해당 월에 대해서는
일할 계산하여 지급함. 단, 연구 주제와 관련한 학술대회 참가 등 대학원장이 인정한 경우에는 예외로 할 수 있음.
나. 왕복 항공료 상당의 여비는 출국하는 달에 지급함. 단, 다음의 경우 50%만 지급함.
1) 지원 대상자 선정 통보 전 입국하여 국내 체류 중인 경우
2) 연구 지원 시작 후 4개월 이전에 (6개월 연장 지원 대상자의 경우 8개월 이전에) 연구를 포기하는 경우
다. 의무 사항을 위반하였거나 기타 사유로 대학원위원회에서 연구지원금 및 여비에 대해 환수 결정을 한 경우 환수할 수 있음.
특히 연구 결과 보고서를 제출하지 않은 대상자에 대하여는 연구 기간 종료 월의 연구지원금과 여비를 지급하지 않음.
10. Notes
A. The monthly allowance is provided at the end of each month. When Grant recipients temporarily leave Korea for personal reasons or give up research to return home, the amount of monthly allowance in the said month will be calculated based on the number of days for which they stay in Korea. However, an exception to this rule can be made when Grant recipients temporarily leave the country in order to attend an academic conference with a prior approval of the Dean of the Graduate School of Korean Studies.
B. Round trip airfares (prescribed by the AKS travel expenses policy) are provided in the final month of the research period. However, only 50% of the round trip airfares are offered in the following cases :
1) If Grant recipients arrive in Korea before the notification of the selection result of the AKS Grant Research Program and reside in the country
2) If Grant recipients give up their research within 4 months after the Grant period starts (or within 6 months after the first Grant period starts for those who extend their Grant period)
C. The Grant and the round trip airfares provided can be redeemed if the Graduate School Committee deems it appropriate, for example, when a Grant recipient fails to meet the requirements of the AKS Research Grant Program. In particular, the Grant and the round trip airfares are not provided for those who fail to submit a final report summarizing their research findings at the end of the program.
