Juilliard at The Korea Society
The Korea Society continues its 2010-2011 Young Visions, Young Performers series with cellist Elizabeth Chung. A frequent contributor to orchestras nationwide, Ms. Chung will perform Bach (Suite No. 3 in C Major, Gigue, and No. 6 in D Major, Prelude, and Allemande), Piatti (Caprice Opus 25, No. 7), Ligeti (Sonata for Solo Cello) and Saint-Saëns (The Swan from Carnival of the Animals) in The Korea Society’s Samsung Center. Enjoy seasonal sweets and refreshments at this candlelit holiday concert.

About the Performer
Ms. Elizabeth Chung has performed with the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Academy Conducting Orchestra, Keweena Symphony Orchestra and Harper Symphony Orchestra. Elizabeth is a prize-winner of the Third Triennial Johansen International, Lennox String, MTNA String, Keweena Symphony Concerto and Aspen cello concerto competitions. In 2007, Elizabeth was named semi-finalist in the Paulo International Cello competition. Elizabeth's performance of the Shostakovich cello concerto at Orchestra Hall was broadcast by Chicago's WFMT 98.7. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yoon Ju-A guides the listener through a winter grove to the p’iri (bamboo oboe) and saenghwang (mouth organ). Yoon has toured widely and was part of the Happy Bamboo ensemble. A meditative, candlelight holiday performance.
