AWCA에서는 창립 32주년을 기념해 한국이 낳은 세계적인 소프라노 신영옥씨를 초청해 음악회를 개최합니다. 이번 음악회는 소프라노 신영옥과 AWCA가 두번째로 함께하는 음악회로, 커뮤니티를 위한 신영옥씨의 아름다운 나눔활동에 참여하심과 더불어, 그녀의 격조 높은 음악을 느끼실 수 있는 기회가 될 것입니다. 이번 음악회의 수익금은 AWCA가 커뮤니티를 위해 진행하고 있는 프로그램 운영에 쓰여지게 됩니다.(가정상담소, 시니어센터(한국, 중국, 일본), 소셜서비스, 엔젤 입양인 한국학교, 평생교육원) 소프라노 신영옥은 서울 출생으로 줄리어드 음악 대학에서 학사와 석사를 마쳤으며, 천부적인 음악적 재능뿐만 아니라 헌신적이고 박애적인 활동으로 잘 알려져 있습니다. 소프라노 신영옥 콘서트에 참여하셔서 커뮤니티를 위한 그녀의 마음을 느끼시고, 그녀의 음악을 들으며 환상적인 5월의 저녁을 보내시길 바랍니다.

World renowned soprano, Ms. Youngok Shin will star in the upcoming AWCA Benefit Concert. This is Ms. Shin’s second concert with the AWCA. Her dedication for community giving & magnificent talent as a classical artist keeps her in high demand across the globe. Ms. Shin has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, the Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Royal Opera Covent Garden, Opéra National de Paris, Cologne Opera, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, the Liceo in Barcelona, Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile and in the Pittsburgh Recital Series. She has performed with the Canadian Opera Company, Baltimore Opera Company and with countless leading musicians and conductors of our time such as James Levine, James Conlon, Nello Santi, Edoardo Müller, Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Ramón Vargas, Rolando Villazón, Leo Nucci, Samuel Ramey, among others. Ms. Shin has also performed at the Spoleto Festivals in Charleston, Monterrey Mexico Music Festival, Tenerife Festival, Bratislava Spring Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center, Cincinnati May Festival, and held concerts in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul. Ms. Shin has various CDs with E&E Media Label, Yedang Classics, and Universal Music.

Originally a Seoul native, Ms. Youngok Shin continued her studies at the Julliard School of Music and graduated with a Bachelor’s & Master’s of Art in Music. She is the recipient of a number of prizes in vocal competitions; winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions of 1990, the Loren Zachary Competition, and First Prizes in the Olga Koussevitsky Competition. Ms. Shin is recognized not only for her immense talents but also for her philanthropic endeavors.
